We have a great new location! We are on East Bay Street, the same street some folks call "Restaurant Row." Our shop is just outside the entrance to Abaco Beach Resort. We are in one of the octagon buildings at Simmons Place, behind the Snack Shack and next to Rental Wheels. It's the perfect location for our dive shop; right in the middle of the tourist section. Our 31 ft. Hydrocat Dive Boat is just down the street at Mangoes Marina next to the fabulous Mangoes Restaurant. If you're in town stop by and see us. We would love to share dive stories with you. And, if you want to see some of the very best dive sites in the Abaco's we know just where to take you!

Summer and Fall diving here in Abaco is about as good as it gets. It's warm, calm and clear. This all adds up to "dreamy." We have day after day of great diving weather and dozens of dive sites to choose from. The magnificent caverns and tunnels unique to Abaco's reefs are alive with dancing, laser-like, sun rays reflecting the silvery glow of huge schools of silversides. Beautiful corals are at their peak of color with polyps full and ready to bloom. Our friendly groupers have several smaller ones "in training" as they following us along coral ledges. And, needing no wetsuit to stay warm you get all of the benefits of water flowing past your body. We love diving in Abaco anytime, but summer and fall diving is supreme!

This is a dive site you don't want to miss! Tarpon Tunnel is located in the barrier reef near the north end of Guana Cay. Our dive begins in 30 ft. of inviting, clear blue water. We swim along the outer reef line and through a "doorway" into a large cavern room. Sunlight filters through small cracks in the top of the reef creating a dance of laser-like rays on the sandy bottom. A smaller passage takes us into another gigantic room filled with amazing coral formations and on a sunny day, a magnificent "disco" light show. During the summer and fall this cavern is filled with thousands of tiny silversides that part and fold around us as we swim through them.
At one end of the cavern a large opening allows us to descend 60 feet on the other side of the reef. The coral heads here are immense with gigantic ledges and overhangs. Eagle rays, black tipped sharks and tarpon frequently cross our path.
We wrap around the base of some of these huge coral heads then gradually swim up to another immense overhang and into another cavern room with dancing lights. A well-lit tunnel takes us behind gigantic pillars and back out under the enormous overhang. This is our turn-around point. We follow the contours of the reef at 30 feet, go through a cavern, drop under the barrier reef, and swim back to the boat to share our amazing dive with those left on the surface.

This fall we are adding a unique dive on a "By Request" basis. This is a Shark Encounter with our friendly Caribbean Reef Sharks. Although we frequently see these sharks on some of our dive sites, the encounters are usually brief. Some of our guests have requested a more intense experience where they have plenty of opportunities to observe and photograph these magnificent animals.
During our Shark Encounter sharks are not fed or baited-in while the divers are in the water thus eliminating the possibility of accidental bites when a loose piece of chum floats too close to a diver. Our sharks stay in the general area of the dive for the entire underwater event and give our guests lots of opportunities to admire their sleek and muscular bodies and come away with some fantastic photographs.

Our philosophy is to provide our guests with diving experiences that are exhilarating and eliminate as much stress as possible. We know gear handling on a boat is sometimes challenging and cumbersome even for the most experienced diver. Therefore, we do all the work and let our guests relax. We load of all the gear, assemble it on tanks, have masks defogged and ready to go before our divers suit up, assist with entries and exits from the water, change tanks during the surface intervals and wash, dry and store our guests gear at the end of their diving day. When our guests board our dive boat the next day they find their gear assembled on a tank ready to go. We provide bottled water for drinking and have a tray of snacks prepared when our guests come up from their first dive.
We also believe the best diving experiences are those where divers can relax before and after dives and are not crowded in a large group underwater or on the boat. Although we are licensed for 12 guests and 2 crew members we are limiting the number of guests on our 31 ft. Hydrocat Dive Boat to 6 SCUBA divers. This insures our guests will have a comfortable ride and will receive lots of personal attention. Our fully outfitted power cat cruises at 26 knots. She provides a smooth ride with lots of stability as she sits at anchor or on a mooring ball. And, it takes only 15 minutes from our dock at Mangoes Marina to the dive sites in the Fowl Cay Preserve. (We do have other boats available for larger groups who travel together.)
