Too much to do and not enough time for SCUBA Certification??? You, your family members, and/or friends can still dive every day you are in Abaco! Two hours of our Resort Course training will prepare you to dive to depths of up to 40 feet with an Instructor. During the class you will learn nearly half of all SCUBA skills taught in a full certification course. The next day, and as many subsequent days as you want, you get to do actual SCUBA dives on our beautiful reefs! And, if you really love it, you can trade in your investment toward a full NAUI SCUBA Diver Certification Course.

Some of our Groupers have been with us for a very long time. They know us and swim as fast as they can to greet us underwater. One we've named Romeo is about 4 feet long and weighs about 60 pounds. He is a "lover!" His antics are not at all fish-like. He often "bonds" with one diver in the group. Occasionally that diver is not at all happy with "fish bonding activity" He puts his huge lips against the diver's mask and stays there for a long while. He does a "cheek to cheek" with his head resting against the side of the diver's face. And most unusual of all, he gives a "full body hug!" This consists of resting his entire body against the body of his chosen diver, belly to belly. One time he stayed in that position and didn't move until the diver started to surface. Yes, there have later been suggestive remarks by divers back on the boat, accusations, and all of that. But, who would believe it? You really have to see it!

Abaco has the most beautiful and most decorated underwater caves in the world. They are also some of the most fragile with huge rooms of crystallized formations found nowhere else in the world. Brian Kakuk, director of the Bahamas Caves Research Foundation, explored, lined, and mapped many of these caves and continues to discover secrets held in these beautiful chambers. A few of his discoveries include prehistoric fossils, artifacts, unusual life forms, and miles of connecting passages and immense chambers. For those of you interested in learning to Cave Dive his website is: www.bahamasunderground.com
Brian teamed up with National Geographic who recently brought scientists, divers, and photographers to Abaco and will soon feature a cover story on Abaco's Underwater Cave Systems. Their one hour special on Abaco's Blue Holes and Cave Systems recently aired on PBS TV and will soon be followed by another segment.
For those of you who would like to experience these caves in the safety of your own "dry" computer space click on the following link. This 15 minute video is absolutely amazing! http://vimeo.com/10402471

One of our favorite "Above Abaco" adventures is our "Blue Hole Snorkeling Adventure." It's an all day adventure that gives our guests the opportunity to experience some of South Abaco's beautiful inland topography as well as snorkel in several Blue Holes tucked away in the Abaco Pine Forests.
Our guests love our travels through these pine forests. There are thousands of acres crisscrossed with old logging roads. Some are practically grown over while others are well worn by Wild Boar Hunters, Bonefishing Guides, and Blue Hole Divers. The terrain varies with mysterious ravines and protruding hill tops. If you drive far enough to the west on these logging roads you could find yourself on the edge of the Marls, rich with Bonefish. Drive to the east and you will discover miles and miles of magnificent beaches.
After our guests experience the pine forests and blue holes they are ready for a delicious, authentic Bahamian lunch at Nancy's Restaurant in Sandy Point, about 50 miles southwest of Marsh Harbour. The food is so scrumptious, and the setting so scenic that cameras are pulled out to record the event!
The rest of the day is spent enjoying South Abaco's beautiful beaches. We stop at several to do some shelling and hunt for sea glass. And, if we have time on the way back, we look for the Abaco Parrots in Bahama Palm Shores. At the end of the day our guests get to enjoy a special delicious punch just before we head back to Marsh Harbour.

Our philosophy is to provide our guests with diving experiences that are exhilarating and eliminate as much stress as possible. We know gear handling on a boat is sometimes challenging and cumbersome even for the most experienced diver. Therefore, we do all the work and let our guests relax. We load of all the gear, assemble it on tanks, have masks defogged and ready to go before our divers suit up, assist with entries and exits from the water, change tanks during the surface intervals and wash, dry and store our guests gear at the end of their diving day. When our guests board our dive boat the next day they find their gear assembled on a tank ready to go. We provide bottled water for drinking and have a tray of snacks prepared when our guests come up from their first dive.
We also believe the best diving experiences are those where divers can relax before and after dives and are not crowded in a large group underwater or on the boat. Although we are licensed for 12 guests and 2 crew members we are limiting the number of guests on our 31 ft. Hydrocat Dive Boat to 6 SCUBA divers. This insures our guests will have a comfortable ride and will receive lots of personal attention. Our fully outfitted power cat cruises at 26 knots. She provides a smooth ride with lots of stability as she sits at anchor or on a mooring ball. And, it takes only 15 minutes from our dock at Mangoes Marina to the dive sites in the Fowl Cay Preserve. (We do have other boats available for larger groups who travel together.)
