A Unique Photographic Educational Experience
Above And Below Abaco is one of the Adventure Destinations for the Len Bucko Photo School. Classes are available in Digital Still and Digital Video using the latest state-of-the-art cameras, lighting, and underwater communications equipment.
During Len's Photo School you will get in depth, hands on, experience and knowledge of how your photo equipment works. However, you may want to use his equipment, and learn more about the benefits and features of the various makes and models before purchasing your own.
Classes are small and are customized to meet the needs and experience levels of each student. Basics can be taught or reviewed to improve image collecting techniques. Most importantly, Len teaches leading edge technology and techniques to optimize the use of digital equipment.
A full Six Day Session of Len's Photo School is recommended. However, he can customize a package to fit your schedule. Classroom, confined water training, planning, shooting, post-production workflow and editing are all covered and reinforced to optimize your learning experience.
You will leave with CD/DVDs or mini DV tapes of your work. Additionally, you will know how to create new projects that will put you well ahead of others who have entered the Shutterfly Confused Digital world.
Len has a long history in photography on the land, sea and air. A certified SCUBA diver since 1956, an Airline Transport Pilot and holder of a 100 ton USCG Captain's license have allowed Len to capture images in many varied locations. Years of studio photo work and 20 years of flying with the US Marine Corps as a Top Gun Instructor and American Airlines pilot have given Len the chance to teach diving and photography all over the world. He has also been a NAUI and YMCA SCUBA Instructor and is currently a PADI Instructor Trainer/Examiner.
Len started cave diving in the mid eighties. By overcoming the challenges of capturing light rays of the sacred Cenotes and the darkness of the Yucatan caves he has produced images many other photographers strive to emulate.
Len's images have been featured in many magazines and other publications. Most recently they were seen in Advanced Diver Magazine and in ads by PADI and National Geographic to promote their new diver certification program. Len's expertise earned him the position of Dive Coordinator/Underwater Production Manager for the IMAX film “Journey into Amazing Caves” and the feature film “The Cave” .
